How did the landlords of the Ulster Plantation recruit tenant farmers?
Q. I am aware that much of the Ulster Plantation was peopled with Scottish and English Protestants. What was the attraction for the tenants--freedom of religion? cheap land? coercion by their English or Scottish lords?
