The discovery of the elements known to exist today is presented here in chronological order. The elements are listed generally in the order in which each was first defined as the pure element, as the exact date of discovery of most elements cannot be accurately defined. There are no written records for the discoveries of the first few elements that were known in antiquity.

Given is each element's name, atomic number, year of first report, name of the discoverer, and some notes related to the discovery.

Q. If you understand evolution, then u would agree with me that it is a theory. A theory can't be called a fact until it has been proven right with evidence. therefore evolution is a simply a theory NOT a fact. there are 6 different types of evolution: 1. Chemical evolution - the origin of higher elements from hydrogen 2. Cosmic evolution - the origin of time, space, and matter 3. Stellar and planetary evolution - the origin of stars and planets 4. Organic evolution - origin of life from inanimate matter 5. Macro-evolution - origin of major kinds 6. Micro-evolution - variations with kinds. Micro is the only one to be proven. That is such a WRONG understanding of what a "theory" is, or the difference between a theory and a "fact", and the difference between "proof" and "evidence" that I don't know where to start. All I can say is that you have been influenced by truly bad bad bad science as presented by other Creationists. BAD information, not just about evolution ... but about basic, basic SCIENCE. Consider the theory of gravity. It is called a 'theory' and always will be called a 'theory', not because it hasn't been "proven with evidence" ... but because the word 'theory' means *explanation for evidence*.
