A common example of a chemical substance is pure water; it has the same properties and the same ratio of hydrogen to oxygen whether it is isolated from a river or made in a laboratory. Some typical chemical substances are diamond, gold, salt (sodium chloride) and sugar (sucrose). Generally, chemical substances exist as a solid, liquid, gas, or plasma and may change between these phases of matter with changes in temperature or pressure. Chemical reactions convert one chemical substance into another. Forms of energy, such as light and heat, are not considered to be matter, and thus they are not "substances" in this regard. I heard that although THC / Cannibinoids get you high, the drug tests actually check for a different chemical that is present in the body. I was wondering if this is true. A chemical peel is just what it sounds like, they take a chemical (typically golcolic acid I believe) put it on your skin causing a minor burn and then it peels off revealing fresh younger looking skin. However, if you've been on ANY acne meds you need to be careful, some of them have wait periods after stopping use before you can do something like this (for example, if you were on accutane you need to wait a minimum of 6 months after your LAST dose) if you don't wait long enough you have have serious scarring occur.
