I am very much interested in studying and practicing alternative medicine?
Q. I am currently a 3rd year biology major and really want to practice and learn alternative medicine. Any information from someone working in the field would be greatly appreciated. I need someone to direct me where to go!

A. The best advice is to contact local practitioners in your area and ask to speak with them and to possibly observe them at work for a short time. Alternative practitioners do this all of the time. In addition, do the same with allopathic practitioners such as medical or osteopathic physicians, physical therapists and physician assistants. That being said, acupuncture seems to be the most clinically proven and accepted therapy for a variety of conditions (just take a look at Medscape.com or PubMed).
