What do you think of Nurse Practitioners as medical providers?
Q. I went to see a nurse practitioner and she spent more time with me, talked to me and actually listened to what I had to say. I have never experienced that before. What are your experiences with nurse practitioners as compared to MD's, DO's and Physician Assistants?

A. It's not the title that's good or bad or better. It's the person who holds that title. Some people are more dedicated, caring, knowledgable and intelligent than other medical practioners. You just have to find theses people, regardless of their title.

when did massage therapists start being called massage practitioners?
Q. im working on my seior project that includes a 5 page research paper and i woud love to know if anyone at all would have an idea of when massage therapists started being called masage practitioners??? i dont need the month or day obviousl, but if you know the general year or possible time frame...

A. Each state has their own definition of what a person who does massage can call themselves. The first state to license massage therapists was Ohio I believe but I am not sure what they called massage therapists. You can check with the OH State Board for massage to see and take a look at how other states designate terms for people who do massage.

Q. Why are gymnasts and Wushu practitioners extremely strong yet their muscles don't have a lot of mass to them unlike most people who try to develop strength with weights? How do they train to achieve this?

A. They do exercises designed to build strength without adding bulk like body weight exercise. Also, if you do a lot of repetitions of exercises, you build strength without all the bulk.
